Error correction and loss of information:
The most challenging problem within data cleansing involves the removal of duplicates and invalid entries. Much of this process can be automated, but there will always be data that must be checked manually.

 

Maintenance of cleansed data: Data cleansing takes time. Since time is money, it makes sense to only clean new data. So, we keep a cleansing lineage for efficiency.
