Couchbase released first maintenance release in the 6.5.x series

The first maintenance release in the 6.5.x series for Couchbase Server is released by Couchbase in April 2020.

Many sought-after relational capabilities were bought by Couchbase Server 6.5 to the NoSQL world.

Couchbase Server 6.5 seeks to improve developer agility, reduce total cost of ownership, enhance manageability, and provide more enterprise-grade security and performance.

Couchbase Server 6.5.1 release adds support for bounded polygons in geospatial search queries in addition to improvements in Query service and tools components

The non-root install and upgrade for rpm packages is standardized with Couchbase Server 6.5.1 release and it facilitates easy installation, upgradation and maintenance of Couchbase Server as non-root.

Another improvement in Couchbase Server 6.5.1 is the built-in support to manage document expiration using N1QL. In Couchbase Server 6.5.1, a user with the Data Writer privilege may set documents to expire. When the document expires, the data service deletes the document, even though the user may not have the Query Delete privilege.

Filtered events in audit logs can be configured in Couchbase Server 6.5.1 using couchbase-cli.

Upgrading to the latest version of Couchbase Server allows you to leverage the latest features and helps keep your cluster running well.
